Nylons are condensation polymers or copolymers, formed by reacting difunctional monomers containing equal parts of amine and carboxylic acid, so that amides are formed at both ends of each monomer in a process analogous to polypeptide biopolymers. Nylon possesses great mechanical properties, and in particular, the best impact resistance for a non-flexible filament. Layer adhesion and absorbs moisture can be an issue, however.
Tips For Print Nylon
Prone to Warping A heated bed is recommended while 3D printing nylon.
In addition to a heated bed, applying glue to the surface will further ensure a warpless print. Avoid using cooling fans.
Air-tight storage required to prevent water absorption
Improperly dried filaments can cause printing defects
